- ORIGIN: Salto is the first (and only) Benjie product made outside Portugal, in China. After two years of development and research, we came to the conclusion that the mastery of injected neoprene was not a strength of our European producing countries. We always give priority to the quality/price ratio, and the equation proved insoluble. That's why we turned to the country with the best mastery of this technique: China.
- PRODUCTION: The factory is a member of the Business Social Compliance Initiative. This Brussels-based label consists of a code of conduct approved by its members. So we shouldn't expect miracles from it... it's not a real certification controlled by independent third parties, and we can't ignore that it has been criticized. However, in this immense industrial empire about which we know very little, this approach (very rare since it was the only factory to mention social rights in all those we interviewed!), seemed to us to be a first (small) step in the right direction. Not a safeguard, then, but a foundation on which to build.
- QUALITY CONTROL: When it comes to quality and internal processes, the factory is solidly certified: ISO 9001.
- ENVIRONMENT: When it comes to respect for the environment, it's just as solid, being ISO 14001 certified. The requirements of this certification are essential for choosing a cleaner factory: reduction of waste; reduction of CO2 emissions; saving of resources; water and wastewater management.
- PRAKTISCH: Die Saltos sind vielseitig einsetzbar: See, Meer, Gymnastik, Rhythmik, Finken... Sie können sich an viele Situationen anpassen.
- EXTERNAL: The outsole is made of 3 mm non-slip PVC. It has a structured profile for good grip, even when wet.
- INSOLE: The insole features 3 mm of shock-absorbing foam. It's comfortable and protective, while leaving the foot very much off the ground, as if the child were barefoot.
- INSULATION: The neoprene structure is supple and thin for rapid drying.
- CARE: The Salto water shoe can be washed in the washing machine on the 30° cycle.
- PROTECTION: At the front, we've added a microfiber reinforcement to protect the foot.
